Sweet and Sour Coleslaw

This Sweet and Sour Coleslaw is a quick and simple side dish that can be made with  bagged, shredded cabbage and carrots.   This dish is liked by all and is good enough to put out for company.   Serve it along with the Gluten Free Nanny’s BBQ Beef Sliders for a perfect game-day meal.

Ingredients

  • 2
    Bags shredded cabbage or coleslaw blend
  • 1/2
    Bag of shredded carrots
  • 1 Piece
    Red pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 Cup
    Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup
    Water
  • 3/4 Cups
    White vinger
  • 1/4 Teaspoon
    Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon
    Oil , Optional

Instructions

  1. In a very large glass bowl combine bags of cabbage with shredded carrots.

    Add very thinly sliced red peppers

    In a separate glass bowl combined all of the remaining ingredients. Whisk together until sugar is dissolved. Pour over cabbage mixture.

    Refrigerate at least 3 hours before serving. If put into a large glass jar this will last a week in the refrigerator.

    If there is not enough dressing, make an additional 1/2 of the recipe and add it to the cabbage.
