    Brisket
  • 1 Piece
    Large onion coarsely chopped
  • 1 Cup
    Chili sauce
  • 1 Cup
    Regular cola
  • 1/2 Teaspoon
    Hot paprika or chili powder
  • 2 Tablespoons
    Brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons
    Oil
  • Salt, to taste GFN likes Kosher Salt
  • Black pepper, to staste
  • 2/3 Cups
BBQ Sauce. GFN likes Sweet Baby Ray's

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325.

In a large bowl mix Chili sauce with the cola, hot paprika and brown sugar. Set to the side.

Season brisket with salt and pepper on both sides.

In a large roasting pan, heat oil then add onions and saute until soft. When onions are soft move them to the side of the pan, turn the heat up to high and add brisket to sear. About 5 minutes on each side.

Line a large roasting pan with foil. The foil should be large enough close over the middle of the brisket, sealing the brisket and sauce in the foil.

Put the seared brisket, fat side up and onions on top of the foil, pour the sauce on top of the brisket and seal the foil tightly to keep the sauce inside.

Cook for about 4 1/2 hours in a 325 oven.

When brisket is done. take out of the oven . Cool. Remove the brisket from the sauce, and shred with 2 forks.Mix in BBQ sauce to taste.

Serve on Gluten Free hamburger buns- GFN Likes Udi's - with some sweet and sour coleslaw.
